Walk from the MCG to the SCG: A Challenge for a Noble Cause

Hi! My name is Prabodh Malhotra and I live in Boronia, Victoria. Later this year I plan to walk for almost 1000 Kms from Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) to Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) to raise funds for the McGrath Foundation that has been doing commendable work to help thousands of families across Australia affected by breast cancer.

Walking from the MCG to SCG is a monumental challenge that requires a great deal of inspiration, encouragement, and what Swami Niranjan calls “selfless devotion”. Among others, my inspiration comes from the French author Stephen Grellet who said, “I expect to pass through this world but once; any good thing therefore I can do, or any kindness that I can show to any fellow-creature, let me do it NOW, let me not defer or neglect it." As a 70-year-old retiree, this may be my last chance to make a small contribution for a good cause.

Our target is to raise $1,000,000 for the McGrath Foundation. My humble request to you is to please give generously and encourage others to donate directly to the foundation by clicking on the link provided. Every dollar counts and even small donations add up like little droplets forming a stream. Donations made within Australia may be tax deductible.

Please add your comments and share this email/message with all your family members, friends, what's app and other social media platforms. e.g. Rahul wrote, "One of our close friends is undertaking 1000KM walk from MCG to SCG to support the families and women impacted by breast cancer. At the age of 70, Dr. Prabodh Malhotra (PhD) is taking this initiative to challenge himself physically to raise the bar for youngsters and people looking for purpose in life after retirement to do selfless community service."

Every breast cancer experience is different. That's why the McGrath Foundation aims to make life that little bit easier for individuals and families experiencing breast cancer.

I'm fundraising to help place specialist McGrath Breast Care Nurses, wherever they're needed, and I'd love your support. I'd really appreciate it if you would you consider making a donation. Thanks!

Please google their website for more details: The McGrath Foundation

Please also note that I don’t handle any money. All donations go directly to the McGrath Foundation

The countdown has begun to the start of the walk on Sunday 13 November 2022 outside the MCG at 7:00 AM. Expect many friends and representative from the McGrath Foundation to flag off the approximately 50-day walk that would take us through Shepparton, Wangaratta, Beechworth, Jindabyne, Cooma, Canberra, Goulburn and Liverpool before reaching the Sydney Cricket Ground on the opening day of the Pink Test early January.
