Day 5 - Thursday 7 November 2024: All the way to Traralgon
Vishal and I got ready and left the hotel at Warragul early morning. We drove to the Opal paper mill Maryvale where we had left off the previous day. We started the walk on C477 from Maryvale to Traralgon stopping for a cuppa and took some rest to allow the body to recover from fatigue. When we reached Traralgon, we went out for lunch. After some rest, we continued to walk towards Sale and Bairnsdale. Late afternoon, I had to stop walking because there was roadwork ahead. As a part of the conditions stipulated to grant permission for the walk by the authorities, roadwork and other situations that could possibly jeopardise my own safety or that of others, I must not walk through but travel in the van. I boarded the van to get through the roadwork area. and continued to walk until we reached Rosedale. Subsequently, we returned to Traralgon to the stay over. After such a long day, I was very tired. We checked into a motel on the Princes Hwy at Traralgon. While I was waiting for my body to cool down, Vishal was kind enough to make a cuppa. After some rest, I had a shower. I felt fresh and relieved. We walked around the Traralgon town centre taking photos of the heritage listed Post Office and other interesting buildings. Traralgon has a mix of buildings of yester years and modern design structures. One could easily walk around the town centre in an hour. We had vegetarian pizza for dinner, returned to the motel and went to sleep.
